We all went for lunch today, because it's Friday. When we came back, Donald and Stuart were acting a bit strange. I asked what was going on....

In other news, CB wasn't out tonight and I relaxed and had a really nice time. Left a wee bitty early though, it's hard being the only sober one ;) It was nice to see some old friends though.

So it was CB's leaving do. I made it to the taxi before I started crying. Am still crying. Am also drunked so that's ok.

Wasn't the best of nights, and I decided to leave when he bought someone else a glass of champagne and was all cosied up to her. Fair play, she's beautiful so I don't blame him. But I couldnt deal so I left.

Saying goodbey was very very hard. He hugged me lots and told me he loved me. I know he only meant it in a friend way but I just didn't want to let him go :( The office is going to be horrible without him there, calling me and emailing me stupid things all the time. I miss him already.

But, probably for the best. Most guys aren't interested when they hear my "interesting" views on relationships. He kept saying to keep in touch so I hope we can be friends for a long time.

I will be needing my hugs now.

... litening to the sound of two cats and a four year old snoring!! I'm babybsitting for Katie tonight (first time overnight on my own, skeery!) and it's been fun so far. We've played hide and seek and played with the cats lots and then she crashed out! I now have to sneak into the bedroom and try and get to sleep without waking her. Am typing this very very quietly!!

Work is confusing. They're changing things on a daily basis, sometimes good, sometimes bad. So I have no idea what's happening :/ Had yesterday and today off though, so that was good. I took mum to see Cirque du Soleil (amazing!) and today was housework. More fun than being in work though.

So the last few weeks have been filled with meeting after meeting, and questions being passed back and forth. The main problem has been the HR rep brought in to "help" us through the process. The fact that her nickname is "Debbie does Hewden" should give you an idea of the high regard she's held in! We asked why the BI Team Leader job didn't list BI as one of the knowledge/skills required, when it did list MS OFfice and A levels as requirements. She replied that seeing as it was a BI role, it should have been obvious BI skills were required, so they didn't need to list them!! Or, the job role was written for someone in Cannock doing the job and they're trying to fix it. Not that she'll admit this.

Anyway, on Thursday we got our leaving dates. March 31st 2009!! And 3 months pay in lieu of notice. And a reasonable retention bonus. Now there's nothing in writing as yet, and still a few concerns but it gives me a lot of breathing space and I feel like a big weight has been lifted :)

So thank you for all your support so far, keep those fingers crossed things carry on the way we hope they do!

Last week was horrible. Everyone in work was depressed and the atmosphere was just awful. We're all hoping next week will be better, 'cos none of us can stand much more of that.

CB definitely has a new girlfriend, but am resolved to stop being a drama queen about it. Ish.

Have applied for several jobs and signed on with about ten agencies. Have also joined linkedin.com which looks pretty cool. If anyone's on there let me know!

I now have to spend today doing my first OU assignment and it's scary and I can't get settled into it. Am trying not to stress about it!

P.S. Pete has been chasing his tail for about an hour now, whilst trying to sit on the sofa. You'd think he'd know by now it's his own tail!! Very cute.

Deja vu?

Today I got told our office is closing and unless we want to move to Birmingham, we're out of a job.

Good news is it won't happen straight away and there's talk of a retention bonus and things, but right now we just all feel like crap.

And the stupid thing is I was OK till someone told me that CB has a new girlfriend, and that's when the tears started!! Am so pathetic.

My mum is on her way round so I get to cry on her for a while.

OK it finally let me post. 

So, this is me, posting on my shiny new laptop. His name is Bert *waits for Jo to figure out the reference and laugh at me* and he is lovely. Had a bit of a mare getting him (never NEVER buy from Dell) but so far so good.

Work going good. Will start seeing if my contract has any chance of getting renewed in a week or so when my boss is back from holiday. There's still a lot of work to be done, so hopefully I can get another month out of it at least. I now have train buddies too, which is really nice! And one of them is dating a guy who works in the film industry. He drove Christopher Lee to the airport yesterday! And he worked on the cool Sony advert with the paint on the Toryglen flats!!

Lots of SMK popping up on my flist which is a very good thing. I have ideas for 3 music vids, just need to figure out how to get the files into WMM. 

The rest of my life is very boring, just plodding on really.

I've been trying to update here for a long time. Since July 18th to be precise. It lets me comment on peep's LJs, but it kept eating my posts. But now I've tried again and it still has the last one? WTF?

Bloody LJ ate my last entry before I posted it. I hate this new update thing. Probably why I don't update much. Anyway... from memory....

A year ago today Jo (am not doing lj user tags 'cos that's what ate the last entry, sorry) and I returned to the UK from an amazing 7 months in Vancouver and I want to say I MISS YOU GUYS!! All being well I'll be back for a visit in September or October. I found a poster of Princess Leia last night and she was wearing my dress!!

Went to a Doctor Who exhibition at Paisley Art Galleries on Sunday with my neighbour. Managed to avoid scary curator who cornered us the last time we went and talked to us for an HOUR about some local puppet guy. "You must know him. He's dead! You know, the puppet guy. Dead!" For. An. Hour. Anyway there were Daleks (they is big) and Davros and K9. K9 had a tartan collar and slightly gubbed ears. I wanted to steal him but Katherine wouldn't let me :o( And lots and lots of teeny tiny David Tennants that were behind glass and I also couldn't steal. Best thing was a scarf that everyone had to knit a row of, but thankfully Katherine knitted one on my behalf. 

Work is going well, and am managing to fool them into thinking I can do stuff. And there are cute boys.

But, thanks to the seriously fucked-up arseholes who think it's a good idea to attempt to blow up people and buildings where I live, I'm not really in a happy place.

Travelling up on the train today was horrible, I've never been that scared to be out and about before. And to have my mum on the phone, nearly in tears, because she was terrified that I was making that journey was just.. I don't have the words. But I'm home and I'm safe, and the trip was actually pretty easy 'cos the train was empty.

Having said all that, I had a great time with Ruth King and driftingatdusk. You know the kind of friends where you can't get to see each other very often, but within 5 minutes of being in each other's company you're laughing your head off at something only the group of you would get... *hugs them*
